Scroll compressor
Scroll compressor is a positive displacement compression compressor, the compression component is composed of a moving scroll disk and a static scroll. Includes a number of structural features enabling the shunt flow of gas through the compressor housing to reduce entrainment of oil.
After entering the shell, some gases flow upward to reduce the amount of gas flowing downward toward the oil. To achieve this, the motor of the compressor may be surrounded by a sleeve having upper and lower holes for guiding airflow to the turns of the upper and lower stator ends of the motor. In some embodiments the suction inlet is positioned significantly relative to the two gas passages between the stator and the motor housing. The inlet is positioned so that a channel receives incoming gas and divides the flow into two opposite directions, up and down. The other channels only send the gas upwards. In addition, suction baffles, diffusers, streamlined counterweights and suction tube oil traps can also help to separate gas and oil or minimize entrainment.
